Village Life – Whitwell, Derbyshire
The village of Whitwell is in the Northeast corner of Derbyshire, close to the border of Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire.
A village with many stone and character buildings sitting within the Conservation Area of the village, and a community that has adapted to the changing needs of its residents over the years.
It retains many of its traditions including the annual Well Dressing, which takes place each July.
With many of the usual facilities you would expect, such as a local supermarket, pharmacy, hairdressers and thriving community centre with activities to suit all ages.
Whitwell provides a great opportunity to enjoy village life with the convenience of being well positioned for access to the M1, A1 and with its railway station, which is situated on the Robin Hood Line, providing a direct link to Nottingham City Centre.
